So back in February I released Megapick 1.5, which was basically the result of me creating a Minecraft datapack just to see if I could understand how it was done. I think it came out pretty good for a first pack. After playing on it for awhile I decided to polish things up a bit, finish up some of the parts I hadn’t finished and just make it feel more complete overall. I think it flows a bit better now.

Requirements and Other Notes
- This pack was made for Minecraft 1.20 and above.
- You must have the resource pack applied AND have Optifine for 1.20 or above installed for the textures to show up properly.
- If you plan to use other datapacks with this one, you must make sure this pack is loaded first. One of the first things this pack does is reset all scoreboards for all players, so if you load other packs that set scoreboards and then load this pack after, it will cause those packs to stop working.
- We run this pack with several packs from Vanilla Tweaks and haven’t had any major issues except for the Unlock All Recipes pack. These 2 packs do not play nice with each other and it will spawn all custom items repeatedly until you stop it.
- Do not use this pack on a world that has fire spread enabled. You will regret it. lol.
- Armor trims work on the custom armor when you are wearing it, but it does not change the look of the armor item in your inventory. Honestly, with the custom textures, most trims look kinda weird on the special armor in this pack.
- All custom mob loot tables have been updated.
- Custom items in the previous version were re-textured record discs. In this version, I’ve changed the base items to spawn eggs instead. This means that…
- Custom items will be stackable now.
- Custom items cannot be found anywhere in survival, except where they are meant to be found. (Unlike using record discs)
- Custom items can be used to spawn the passive mob they are based on. Now if you accumulate a bunch, at least there is a secondary use.
- Mobs spawned by the custom item will keep the name of the item, so they will not despawn.

- Screaming Arrows can’t be crafted.
- Oh yeah… Did I mention they make random Ghast noises on impact as well? 🙂
Cloud-Strike Arrows
- Dropped in pairs by FAFO Skeletons.
- On impact, this arrow will summon 9 downward facing arrows (in a 3×3 pattern) above the target it made impact with.

Night Vision Helmet

- Gives night vision while wearing this helmet.
- Gives underwater breathing while wearing this helmet.
Lava Walker Boots
- Can be crafted from diamond or netherite.
- These boots will turn lava in a radius around you into basalt.
- Each basalt block is temporary and will change back into lava when you get 4 blocks away from it.
- These boots give fire resistance while wearing them. So if you happen to glitch through because of lag, you can swim back out unharmed.
- Avoid wearing these around farms with that have lava sources at the same level as your feet.
Moon Walker Boots
- Can be crafted from diamond or netherite.
- Gives the player speed 3, jump boost 6, and slow falling 1 while wearing these boots.
Megapants
- Can be crafted from diamond or netherite.
- This recipe will give you golden leggings with the statistics of the material it was crafted with.
- If you craft with diamond leggings, your golden leggings will be as strong as diamond.
- If you craft with netherite leggings, your golden leggings will be as strong as netherite.
- Since they are technically “golden leggings” you can now wear full strength pants in the nether without piglins hating on you.
- These leggings have Thorns 6 and Swift Sneak 6, which is the equivalent to walking full speed when crouching.
- You can sneak-run as well, just like you would if you were standing up.
Boom-Stop Chestplate
- Can be crafted from diamond or netherite.
- Creepers that come within a 4 block radius of you while wearing this chestplate will be teleported 2 blocks deep into the ground where they will suffocate and their gunpowder will float back up to the surface.
- Creepers won’t be able to get close enough to you to start their fuse, so no more accidental explosions from behind.
- This chestplate also has Blast Protection 6, for other things that go boom.
Fling Blade
- Can be crafted from diamond or netherite.
- This sword has Knockback 6 and Sharpness 6.
Wither Sword
- Can be crafted from diamond or netherite.
- This sword has Looting 6 and Smite 6.
Megapick
- Can be crafted from diamond or netherite.
- This pick can instamine deepslate, dirt, sand, gravel, ores, and other blocks that beacons aren’t capable of.
Stun Bun
- Eating the Stun Bun will remove the AI from all entities in a 40 block radius for 10 seconds.
Torch Arrow
- These arrows turn into torches when they make contact with most blocks.
Notes for Torch Arrows
- Torch arrows must be held in the off-hand to function.
- You can also shoot regular arrows into blocks, then place torch arrows into your off-hand and it will instantly convert them to torches.
- Since torch arrows are based off of regular (not tipped) arrows, they will not be consumed if your bow has infinity.
Notes for All Custom Tipped Arrows
- These function the same as any tipped arrow. When you use your bow, it will check to see if you have arrows in your off-hand and shoot those first.
- If you don’t have arrows in your off-hand, it will check your hotbar from left to right for the next available arrow type.
- If there are no arrows in your off-hand or hotbar, it will scan from top-left to bottom-right in your inventory and fire whatever arrow it encounters first.
- The custom effects will trigger regardless of whether you hit a mob or the ground near it. However, if the arrow kills the mob, the effects won’t trigger. So if you have a super bow that kills most things in one shot, you should probably aim near the mob’s feet instead of actually hitting it if you want the effects to happen.
Lightning Arrow
- These arrows will summon a lightning bolt at the point of impact.
Levitation Arrow
- These arrows will create a cloud effect on impact that will levitate entities to a height that will kill most things.
Freeze Arrow
- These arrows will form a cone of packed ice around the point of impact.
- The packed ice will disappear after 10 seconds.
- If you shoot multiple Freeze Arrows, the 10 second count restarts each time a new one makes impact.
- When the most recent timer (for the last arrow fired) expires, it will kill all the ice piles at once.
- You can harvest the packed ice before the timer is up and use the blocks to make more Freeze Arrows or just to have more packed ice.
Soul Sucker Arrow
- These arrows will create a flash, then pull all entities within a 4 block radius to the point of impact and force them 2 blocks underground.
- It is possible for a mob to jump back out from time to time, so be careful.
- There will be a small purple cloud at the point of impact so you know where they went down and can grab the drops when they come to the surface.
- Great for taking out clusters of mobs.
- Not so great if you get a little too close. 😉
Additional Info
- The Sonic Wand sometimes won’t work on baby zombies that are frozen by the Stun Bun.
- The Sonic Wand can sometimes prevent the powder snow from disappearing when you are within the radius of a Snow Spider.
- If you have absorption or regeneration when you eat a Stun Bun, you will lose those effects.
